GCDC profile - overview

Gambella Community Development of Canada (G.C.D.C) is a registered Calgary, Canada - based non-profit organization since 2014, governed by a Board of Directors consisting of 5 Executive Committees: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relation Officer, and 3 other directors and Boards Members who represent the community and manage the affairs of the association.

Their main responsibilities besides representing the community to various government agency levels are: to set policy, supervise the management of resources, raise and control the expenditure of funds, control acquisition, maintenance of tradition, improve culture, and create community awareness of the historical significance of the Gambella community members.

Gambella Community Development offers assessment information, referral, and family relationships, assists children to reach their full potential, and helps elderly and sick community members to maintain their health. 

Our Community mandate is to support new immigrants who experience language barriers and the development process by providing guidance and education on family violence prevention, parenting health, and active participation in the local community and to facilitate fully integration into Canadian society.
